The Company

A leading infrastructure contractor delivering major rail and civil engineering projects across the UK. With a strong pipeline of work, they are seeking an experienced senior buyer to play a key role in managing procurement for high-profile projects.

The Role

As a senior buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier contracts to ensure cost-effective procurement solutions. You will work closely with project teams to support delivery on major rail and infrastructure schemes.

Responsibilities:

• Manage procurement activities across rail and infrastructure projects

• Lead negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve best value

• Ensure compliance with NEC contracts and procurement regulations

• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement procurement strategies

• Work collaboratively with internal teams to support project delivery

About You:

• Proven experience as a buyer or procurement professional in rail, infrastructure, or civil engineering

• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and subcontractor management

• Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills

• MCIPS qualification (or working towards) preferred

• Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets effectively
