This leading contractor is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Manager to oversee a major water project in Kent. This role offers a unique chance to lead a flagship project from inception to completion, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient delivery.

 

The Senior Construction Manager will play a pivotal role in the project's success, leading a team of professionals and serving as the primary point of contact for the client and stakeholders. This position demands strong leadership, excellent communication, and conflict resolution skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering operational objectives that support the client in meeting their performance commitments, achieving high levels of compliance with Water UK performance metric targets, and maximising cash collection and margin, all while maintaining excellent client relationships.

 

The scope of works for this project is varied and includes gravity pipelines, rising mains, trunk mains, pumping stations, M&E works, shafts, and tunnelling. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a candidate with extensive experience in the water industry and large complex projects.

 

Key skills and experience required:

  • Proven experience in the water industry, particularly with large complex projects
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidiscipline teams effectively
  • Strong track record of delivering against operational targets
  • Commercially aware and engaged
  • Collaborative nature, with the ability to build strong relationships with key clients and supply chain contacts
  • Ability to command respect and establish personal and business credibility
  • Commitment to the highest health and safety standards
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Experience in an operational manager role
  • Expertise in civils, tunnelling, trunk mains, and pumping stations
  • Experience with MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation)
  • Proven ability to manage designers and subcontractors
